Lewandowski is trying to match the giants. That’s how much he needs to reach 100
Robert Lewandowski still has a chance to break the magical barrier of 100 goals scored in the Champions League. So far, only two players have managed to do this.
Initially, it was supposed to be one of the most interesting matches of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League. In recent weeks, however, the crisis has been noticeable both in the ranks of FC Barcelona and SSC Napoli. There will be plenty of Polish accents on Wednesday evening.
Xavi hopes that Robert Lewandowski will show good shooting form against the Neapolitan team. In the current edition of the competition, the responsibility for scoring goals in Blaugrana was shared between several players, and the 35-year-old marked his presence on the pitch only once.
Taking all seasons into account, Lewandowski can boast of 92 goals at the Champions League level. If it weren’t for a very disappointing autumn in this respect, the experienced sniper would probably have already reached the 100-goal mark.
In the ranking of all-time scorers, Lewandowski is behind the players who broke this barrier. Cristiano Ronaldo is in the lead with 140 goals, while Lionel Messi is the runner-up (129).
Ronaldo and Messi continue their careers outside the Old Continent, which makes Lewandowski the best goalscorer in the history of the Champions League among active footballers in Europe. Next in line are Thomas Mueller (53) and Kylian Mbappe (44).
Na kolejne bramki Lewandowski zapoluje w dwumeczu FC Barcelony z SSC Napoli. Pierwsze spotkanie rozpocznie się 21 lutego o godz. 21.
